Overview
Toyota’s Technician Training & Education Network (T-TEN) is an automotive technician-training program. A partnership between Toyota, Cypress College and Toyota, Scion and Lexus dealerships, T-TEN is an industry leading program helping to develop and place thousands of factory certified technicians in challenging, rewarding and well paid positions in our over 1,400+ Toyota, Scion and Lexus dealerships across the country.*
The T-TEN program at Cypress College provides state-of-the art, hands-on automotive diagnosis and repair education and training in classroom and dealership settings. T-TEN is an important part of Toyota’s ongoing effort and commitment to provide every owner of a Toyota, Scion and Lexus with the most satisfying ownership experience possible. Cypress College and Toyota are committed to help make the T-TEN Program the industry standard.
The program is completed in four semesters. The next class of Toyota T-TEN students will be selected to start in the Fall semester.

Program Structure
Students must meet rigorous requirements to graduate. Students that are currently in the Toyota T-TEN program will be able to complete the program under current guidelines. Students wishing to be part of the Toyota T-TEN program will be required to apply and meet specific guidelines for entrance.
All Toyota T-TEN students are required to complete the Toyota T-TEN Professional Technician Portfolio, Toyota TPORT. This material will be handled through the course, AT 209. All Toyota T-TEN students are required to enroll in AT 209 each semester. ALL TTEN students must attend the weekly meetings. You will be required to keep a written record of your experience through Toyota T-TEN at Cypress College. Students are required to meet once a week for AT 209, several meeting times will be set up throughout the week for your convenience.

- AT 109 C Intro to Toyota - 4 Units
Summer:
- AT 105 C Automotive Electrical I - 4 Units
- AT 106 C Automotive Electrical II - 4 Units
- AT 107 C Automotive Electrical III - 4 Units
- AT 209 C Toyota Portfolio (TPORT) - 1 Units
First Semester:
- AT 130 C Auto Chassis and Brake Systems - 12 Units
- AT 115 C Automotive Air Conditioning - 4 Units
- AT 209 C Toyota Portfolio (TPORT) - 1 Units
Second Semester:
- AT 150 C Auto Performance and Drivability - 12 Units
- AT 121 C Toyota Engine Mechanical Systems - 6 Units
- AT 209 C Toyota Portfolio (TPORT) - 1 Units
Third Semester:
- AT 140 C Auto Transmissions/Drivetrains - 12 Units
- AT 209 C Toyota Portfolio (TPORT) - 1 Units
Fourth Semester:
Each course offers comprehensive preparation for ASE exams and incorporates the following Toyota Factory Training Courses into Cypress College course. Students will receive credit from University of Toyota (UOT) courses upon completing the program:
- Completion of courses: AT 109 C, AT 105 C, AT106 C, AT 107 C, AT 130 C with a passing grade and a passing grade in the Toyota instructor led courses 623, 652, 453, and 553.
- Completion of all E-learning for Maintenance and Certified Technician certification levels as listed on the current chart.
- Pass an Automotive Department performance evaluation for employment readiness.
- Must have passed at least two Automotive ASE tests
- The student must meet dealership eligibility requirements for employment (DMV, drug testing, etc.).
Placement Requirements:
Student Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age by the time of the first internship
- Be a high school graduate or equivalent
- Possess a valid driver license and maintain an employable driving record
- Provide a minimum of two letters of recommendation
- Obtain and maintain a dealership sponsor throughout the program
- Provide the dealership with a responsible and productive work effort
- Be able to meet CC and T-TEN admission and academic requirements
- Maintain dealership attendance standards
- Be responsible for program cost (tuition, fees, books, tools, housing, supplies, etc.)
- Maintain academic standards according to college policy
- Participate in all learning activities at scheduled times
- Be willing to submit to and pass a drug test and background check as required by the sponsoring dealer upon hiring
- Participate in the ASE testing process AND pass a minimum of two (2) of the eight (8) Master Level tests
- Wear work uniforms and safety glasses during campus and internship educational experiences
- Strive to become the best Toyota Service Technician possible
Graduation Requirements:
1. Completion of the following Cypress College Courses. Completion of the required Toyota instructor led courses are incorporated into existing Cypress College automotive courses.
- AT 109 C Intro to Toyota - 4 units

- AT 106 C Automotive Electrical II - 4 units
- AT 209 C Toyota Portfolio (TPORT) - 4 units
- AT 120 C Auto Engine Repair/Machining - 12 units
- AT 121 C Auto Engine Mechanical Systems - 6 units
- AT 130 C Auto Chassis and Brake Systems - 12 units
- AT 140 C Auto Transmissions/Drivetrains - 12 units
- AT 150 C Auto Performance and Drivability - 12 units
- AT 115 C Automotive Air Conditioning - 4 units

2. Completion of the required e-learning courses on University of Toyota web site www.uotdealer.com.
3. Students must pass a minimum of two ASE tests. See www.ase.com for more information. Typically, students who pass all eight ASE tests before T-TEN graduation will reach the Toyota Expert certification level shortly after graduation.
4. Completion of a minimum of 640 hours of a Toyota/Lexus Dealer Internship
The Process:
PROCESS FOR COMPLETING THE TOYOTA TTEN PROGRAM:
- Complete an application packet, go through interview, and be selected for entry
- Completion of AT 109 C Intro to Toyota Automotive Technician
- Pass each course covering required Toyota content with a score of at least 80 percent
- Complete the required online training modules through the University of Toyota (UOT) website
- Complete an approved worksite education experience of at least 640 hours.
- Pass any two ASE tests from A1 to A8.
- Pass an air conditioning refrigerant handling certification test.
- Complete the Toyota T-TEN Professional Technician Portfolio requirements (Cypress College AT 209 C).
